In year 2, I took the module on Stage and Exhibition Management and was involved in a collaborated exhibition with the Year 1 students of Chinese Media Studies. The Chinese Media Studies students had to research about a particular state in China. On the other hand, the Arts Business Management students have to work in groups to design a physical exhibition space as well as create a 3D model of a conceptualised exhibition layout.

Throughout the process of planning an exhibition, I had to consider the visitor experience, visitor journey, layout of space as well as the concept of the exhibition. I not only learned the creative aspects of exhibition planning but I also gained experience in the different operations behind exhibitions. Operations from setting up exhibition frames and lighting to the small details like wire hiding and taping. This has allowed me to understand the considerations and details that go behind an exhibition, deepening my technical knowledge when it comes to planning and managing exhibitions. This experience will enable me to be more confident and familiar with the different operations in the industry of events management.

In year 2, I took the module of Arts Education and was involved in coming up programmes and videos that will be used for educational purposes. My group had selected to do an educational video about the basics of sculpturing.

Throughout the process of filming, I was heavily involved in the planning and directing of the scenes. I was also able to develop technical knowledge and skills for the handling of filming equipment such as lighting and microphones. Throughout this project, I was able to exercise leadership skills by planning, organising, and directing the whole production process with my group. This experience will enable me to be able to lead and direct confidently which will be an essential skill set in the events management industry.

In year 2, I took the module of Visual Communication 2 where I was taught the more advanced level of Adobe Indesign. In one of the assignments, I was tasked with a team to create a brand guide for the "Verve" Arts Festival (as mentioned in the section on Projects and event management).

Teamwork was heavily required due to the many differing opinions on the aesthetics and design of the brand guide. Not only was I able to adapt to situations well by solving disputes between group members calmly and quickly, but I was also able to display leadership skills by facilitating and leading group discussions which made sure work was done efficiently and effectively. Through this experience, I was able to develop further on both my teamwork and leadership skills which are both deemed essential traits of a good events manager.
